Beginner dives usually last two to five hours, including instruction and equipment time. Museo Atlántico programmes add preparation and travel to the sculptures.
Families and first-timers should compare group size and entry method. The cards include family formats, a Playa Chica group capped at six and several dives from sheltered beaches. One Flamingo Wall programme adds a boat after shore practice. Anyone prone to seasickness may prefer a shore session to a catamaran, yacht or boat dive; couples can also compare private options.
Departure points create different days. Puerto del Carmen centres on Playa Chica, Costa Teguise on Jablillo and local beginner sessions, while Playa Blanca serves Flamingo Beach, Playa Dorada and Museo Atlántico. Papagayo trips mix snorkelling with kayaking, SUP or catamaran sailing. On six-hour La Graciosa and Lobos cruises, it is one activity within a day at sea.
Check whether mask, wetsuit, insurance, photos or video are explicitly included. Divers should distinguish one dive from two and an introduction from a certification course. No single best time is stated across the tours: choose a slot that suits your energy and other plans, then ask the provider about expected water and boat conditions.
Good to know: The Museo Atlántico is a certified-diver site at 12–14 m; if you are not certified, book one of the beginner programmes that go in with an instructor. Snorkellers see the shallower figures, not the whole installation – the depth is real and no operator can change it.

Yes, but only on a listing that specifically offers a beginner programme for the museum. The cards include three- and seven-hour non-certified options with instruction, while the site itself lies at diving depth. A normal snorkelling tour is not a substitute if seeing the full sculpture installation is your priority.
Several listed tours explicitly include full equipment, and some also name a wetsuit, insurance, photos or video. That does not make those extras universal. Read the inclusions for your exact Playa Chica, Flamingo Beach, Jablillo or boat option, and ask the provider if an item important to you is not stated.
