Jet ski or parasailing in Lanzarote: what you get for 10, 20 and 40 minutes

Updated October 3, 2026 · 8 min read

The short answer: for most people the guided jet ski tour from Puerto del Carmen is the one to book — €70, and the booking page states that price is per jet ski with one or two people riding, which makes it €35 each for a couple. 4.7 out of 5 from 1,032 reviews, with a choice of three routes. If you just want ten minutes of adrenaline and a view, parasailing over Puerto del Carmen is €55. If you want to ride without a guide ahead of you, the jet ski rental in the same harbour is €70 for 20 or 40 minutes.

Read the price label before you compare anything

This is the single most expensive mistake in this category, and it has nothing to do with the sea. The prices above are not comparable to each other until you check what unit they are in.

The guided tour and the harbour rental are priced per jet ski, and the booking page of the guided tour says so in as many words: one or two people can ride per jet ski. For two people that is €35 a head. The safari from Puerto Calero is priced per person. A 40-minute excursion from Marina Rubicón in Playa Blanca costs €130 under a different label again.

Two trips can look like a factor of two apart and be the same money, or look the same and be double. Check the unit on the booking page before you decide you have found a bargain.

What the jet ski tour actually covers

H2O Sports runs it from Puerto del Carmen harbour, and the booking page lists three routes rather than one.

Playa Quemada, a 40-minute ride. Puerto del Carmen to the Barranco del Quíquere, Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada and back — the quiet coast immediately west of the resorts.

Papagayo, a one-hour ride. The same start, further along the volcanic coast.

South, a two-hour ride. Out past Punta Gorda to Punta Papagayo and the Papagayo beach itself, then back. This is the one that gets you to the beaches people come to the island for, and it is the only reason to pay for the long version.

Included are the guide, the jet ski, a wetsuit, a life jacket and a locker. Hotel pickup and drop-off cost €5 extra per person and are not in the headline price; food, drinks, towels and tips are not included either. Bring a passport or ID card — the operator asks for it. The group is limited to eight participants, and the booking page notes that sea conditions on the day may change the route.

Who is excluded, in the operators’ own words

This matters more here than anywhere else on the island, because a refusal happens at the pontoon with your family watching.

For the guided jet ski tour, the booking page lists as not suitable: children under 8 years, pregnant women, people with back problems, people with mobility impairments, and people over 150 kg.

For the parasailing flight, the booking page lists as not suitable: children under 5 years, pregnant women and people with mobility impairments, with a maximum weight of 180 kg and no unaccompanied minors.

Those are the two sets published by these two operators and they do not transfer to anyone else. Every other jet ski and parasailing operator on this coast sets its own limits, and the only binding version is on the booking page you are about to pay on.

Parasailing: ten minutes, and the photos are extra

The flight is ten minutes. That is not a complaint — it is simply the product, and at 4.8 out of 5 from 218 reviews people are happy with it. You board a motorboat at the pier, get a briefing, a harness and a life jacket, and go up more than 100 metres behind the boat. You can fly alone or with one or two companions.

Included: the flight, the harness, the parachute, the boat, the insurance and the crew. Not included: the photos and video the captain takes of your flight, hotel pickup and drop-off, and tips. The photographs are offered afterwards at a cost, which is worth knowing before the moment when everyone else is buying them.

Flights depend on wind and sea state, and the operator says schedules may change or the activity may be cancelled with notice. Book it early in the week so a cancellation has somewhere to go.

When the combination pack is worth it

The buggy-and-jet-ski pack is €200 per group of up to two for three hours, 4.6 out of 5 from 183 reviews. Priced against the separate pieces it is not a dramatic saving, and that is not really what it buys. What it buys is one pickup, one briefing and one afternoon instead of two half-days of organising — which on a seven-day holiday is worth something. There is a three-part version with parasailing added for €300.

If the buggy is the part you actually want, read the buggy tour from Costa Teguise first: it compares the off-road and on-road versions properly, and the volcano route is not the same thing as a coastal lap.

Our recommendation

For most couples: the guided jet ski tour, €70 per jet ski for two riders, 4.7 out of 5 from 1,032 reviews — by far the most-reviewed water-sports offer on the island. Take the one-hour Papagayo route rather than the 40-minute one if the budget stretches; the extra twenty minutes is the part where you stop concentrating on the throttle and start looking at the coast.

Book a time for the guided jet ski tour

For anyone who isn’t sure about driving one: parasailing at €55. You are a passenger, it lasts ten minutes, and the view down the Puerto del Carmen coast is the thing you will describe at dinner.

Skip the 20-minute option unless you genuinely only want the photograph. Twenty minutes includes getting on, the briefing on the water and getting off, and a good share of what is left is spent in a slow zone near the harbour.

And don’t book any of this for a windy week. The trade wind runs along this coast for most of the year; these are the first activities to be called off and the hardest to re-book at short notice. More of what runs on this coast is listed under jet ski and water sports.

Routes, inclusions, exclusions, surcharges, participation limits and weight limits are as published on the GetYourGuide booking pages of H2O Sports Lanzarote and the operators named. Prices and units — per jet ski, per person, per group — are as shown on those pages. Ratings and review counts are from GetYourGuide. Subject to change.
